Description
If you're considering a future in education, Future Teacher Day is your chance to experience SEMO firsthand!
Connect with faculty and current education students, explore innovative learning spaces like the EDvolution Center, and see how future teachers learn by doing from day one. With hands-on activities, interactive technology, and conversations with the people who know the programs best, you'll get a feel for what it's like to prepare for a career in education at SEMO.
Throughout the day, you'll discover the experiences, opportunities, and support that help future educators build confidence in and out of the classroom!

Questions & Answers
- Parking Information
Students who are arriving with parents should use the parking pass provided in the confirmation email and park in the visitor lot located at 385 North Henderson Avenue, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. If this lot is full, please parallel park on Normal Ave.
If students are arriving with their high school, we ask that students are dropped off in front of the University Center outside the Bookstore entrance on North Henderson Avenue. Buses will park behind the Show Me Center parking lot in the North parking lot (Please DO NOT park under the solar panels as this can damage them). At 2 pm, buses need to move outside the bookstore entrance of the University Center for pickup.
- When does check-in open for Future Teacher Day?
Check-in opens at 8 am allowing for buses or families to begin arriving to campus, however, the Welcome Kickoff will not begin until 9 am.
Pictures will also take place upon arrival before heading upstairs for check-in on the 4th floor of the University Center.- What should I wear?
Attire is casual, but please dress according to the weather as you will be outside for a portion of the day when walking to lunch and on the campus tour. Also, comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended as our campus is hilly.
If rain is in the forecast, an umbrella and/or rain jacket is strongly recommended.- Can I choose more than one educational track throughout the day?
All sessions will take place at the same time, so we recommend choosing the session that is most beneficial for your future! You can attend other educational sessions during the latter portion of the session. This will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions at each table!
- Will I have the opportunity to ask questions related to the admissions process or student aid and scholarships?
Yes! We will have a representative from the Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services who will provide a presentation and can answer your questions.
- When will I receive the final confirmation email?
Confirmation emails will be sent out 5 days prior to the event start date. Please be sure to check the student's email for the event confirmation if you do not receive an email.
